Plant cutting is a technique for vegetatively propagating plants. The cutting produces new roots, stems, or both, and thus becomes a new plant independent of the parent.
Humidity level impacts the root growth and needs to be controlled. Most species require a very high humidity level to secure the root growth.
The problem
Humidity must be measured more accurate in the more humid environments.
A too low humidity level results in vaporisation and drying out of the cuts.
A humidity level of more than 100% gives condensation and could result in mould disease.
The challenge
To measure and maintain the correct humidity levels during the roots growth to:
- Minimize the outburst percentage
- Optimize the humidification process and minimize the temperature.
- Save on energy costs.
What to check
Most species require a very high humidity level to secure the root growth.
The solution
WiSensys offers 2 solutions:
- The WS-DLXv that transmits the measured values. Using the WS-DLXv requires that the used sensor has its own power supply.
- The industrial WS-DLXv version that uses external power to directly feed the sensor.
The sensor gives an output of 0-10Vdc.
